    Dear David,

First I would like to thank you for the great lessons at Guitar Noise.I have played for about 40 years and I am always looking for new songs to play. I have learned quite a lot songs on your web site.I really enjoyed Scarborourgh Fair, was a real challenge but I mastered it. I was wondering if you offered any DVDs for sale for lessons. Was looking for some older James Taylor songs. Again, thanks for the great lessons, they spark my interest in my guitar.

    Thanks,

    Joe Van Scoyk

    Hi Joe

Thank you for writing and thank you as well for your kind words concerning my lessons at Guitar Noise.

Currently I do not have DVD lessons (for sale or otherwise), but it is something that both Paul (Paul Hackett, the gentleman who created, owns and runs Guitar Noise) and I are exploring the possibilities of doing. The big stumbling block making certain that we pay the various copyright royalties that would be involved for creating such a project.

Another thing that’s been holding up looking into DVDs is that I’m currently working on two book projects. Actually, one is (finally) done – The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Playing Rock Guitar will be published by Alpha (Penguin) Books and be available the first week of March.

Right now, I am in the process of writing and recording the brand new Complete Idiot’s Guide to Guitar, which will hopefully be out this fall, probably late October or early November. Needless to say, these have been (and still are) a lot of work that has pretty much eaten up all the spare time available.

But once this last project is done, then we’ll get back to looking at the possibilities of DVD lessons.

Also, once the books are done I will have more time to devote to Guitar Noise lessons. One of the first ones that should be posted will (hopefully) be Fire and Rain, which might make you happy!

Thank you again for making the time to write and I look forward to chatting with you again.

    Peace

Excelent article. I can almost play the song now. On the recording i hear a third instrument playing the highest melody. Sounds like a music box maybe. Do you know?
