FODfest tonight

Hello to all!

I’m currently in Chicago to play at FODfest tonight at the Oak Park Village Players Performing Arts Center in Oak Park. The theater is at 1010 West Madison in Oak Park.

“FOD” stands for “Friends of Danny” and “Danny” is Daniel Pearl, the Wall Street Journal reporter who was murdered in Pakistan in 2002. This is a free show using the power of music to bring the world together, something that Danny did all his life. He was a violinist / fiddler as well as a mandolin player who constantly  brought people together to play music wherever he was in the world. These free concerts are to remind people of how music can be a strong force for friendship and understanding in a world where it’s a lot easier to simply divide and subdivide things in order to remove oneself from it.

If you’re in the area, please come by tonight and say hello. Or check out the “Tour” page at the FODfest website and come to the shows remaining this month. I’ll be playing at the final show in Norfolk, Connecticut, as well, so feel free to come by.

Hope to see you there.

Peace
