Congratulations to Alan Green

I first met Alan in person in March (perhaps April?) of 2007. He was in New York on business and I took the train down one morning and we hooked up to visit the guitar stores and to have breakfast. Alan is one of the Forum Moderators at Guitar Noise and, since he lives in England,  getting the chance to meet in person was too good to pass up. He is friendly and a lot of fun to talk to. The morning passed way too quickly.

Fortunately, I got the chance to meet up with him again last September as he and his partner Kathy were visiting various places in the States and I had the honor of having them as house guests for a few days. We even managed to throw together a small open mic gathering so that he could play some guitar for us.

This week, Alan is making a big jump in careers – from investment banker to music teacher. He’s been teaching on and off part time for a while but will be jumping in pretty close to full time, working with the Essex School Music Service.

To celebrate, Alan did me the favor of participating in an online interview for Guitar Noise. You can learn more about him, plus get some links to his music at his own website.

And if you’d like to drop Alan a note of congratulations, feel free to do so either here or at this post on the Guitar Noise Forums.

Be chatting with you again very soon.

Peace
